What's a blog without an intro and why I call myself "Kandy Kiss Jackie".  A few years ago, I started to give myself a reward at the end of each day before bedtime - 3 Kandy Kisses before bed. I kept this a secret for several years and then one day, I was asked to tell something about myself that no one else knew - and shared "my secret".  Now you know!

My husband, Mark and I were married 38 years ago - March 11, 1972.  My husband and I are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - the next question my husband asked me after he asked me to marry him, is which Temple I wanted to be married in, and I said, "The St. George Temple".  I will come back to that latter.  Our anniversary is coming up, and 38 years later, we have 8 children - 5 girls and 3 boys - 7 are married - and we have 18 grandchildren.  Our children's name are (starting from the beginning) - Jennifer, Stephanie, Christie, Mark David, Sarah, Natalie, John and Bobby.  Jennifer married Greg Longman and their children are - Ashley, Zachary, Haley, Chloe, and Ty.  Stephanie married Kurt Smith and their children are - Skye, Dylan and Isabella.  Christie Eve (born on Christmas Eve) married Jason Skrinak and their children are - Noah, Kylie and Samson.  Mark David married Chrissy Fantauzzi and their children are - Mateo and Rocco.  Sarah Dawn married Jacob Hubbard and their children are - Jackson and Stella.  Natalie married Larry Staley and their children are Garen, Jayden (and their new son that will be born the end of April.)  John married Kathryn Chatterly - just married August 7, 2009.  Our last son is currently serving a mission for our church in Oklahoma - Elder Robert Daniel Taylor.

My husband Mark is an owner/agent for Allstate Insurance.  Our oldest son, Mark works with his dad.  I have always been a stay-at-home mom.  Before we married, my husband served a mission in Brazil.  We met through my cousin before his mission and didn't like each other "at all".  He grew up in Orem, Utah, and I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I only have the best of memories growing up in a much smaller Las Vegas.  My favorite memories are family, church and school experience with fun friends.  My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were all special to me.  After high school I attended UNLV for 2 years and BYU for a year.  I managed to get as far as a Junior in college before marriage.  Our family started to come so quickly that I could never go back to school.  At the time, I didn't want to either.  My life was full with enough challenges raising babies and children.  My husband and I talked about it and decided that if he would earn the living, I would stay home and take care of the kids.  It's worked out for us.  There were many financial challenges, but he and I were grateful that I was home.  Somehow we made it through.  I remember days that I would wash 10 batches of wash per day.  I would get up earlier and earlier to get ready for the day before the family would arise.  I learned to make lists and plan out a months worth of menus.  The errands were endless and getting everyone everywhere after school - like games, dance, piano, church activities.  I sewed a lot of clothes and other items.  Nursed many a sick back to health.  But, it was all worth it!!!  My husband is the "real champ".  He has always been there for me and the kids and now grandkids. Today is "Valentines Day" and I am grateful that he is still "my Valentine".

I am currently a Seminary Teacher.  My alarm goes off at 2:30 a.m.  I say my prayers first, then shower, read my scriptures, start the wash, clean the house up, make a smoothie, exercise, put on my make up, and get dressed (waking my husband at 4:45 a.m.).  I leave the house at 5:50 a.m. - go around the corner and pick up 2 twin girls and their brother and off to the High School for Seminary.  We arrive at 6:00 a.m. where I team teach with another teacher (every other day).  I have gone back to college.  I am studying the ASL - deaf studies program and hope to graduate as an interpreter some day.  I am also studying to pass my insurance license so my husband and son can train me in the business.  I am hoping to earn my Bachelor's Degree in the future.  I enjoy going back to school even at my age.  I love people so much.  I started guitar lessons 3 years ago and still take from a great young gal, Megan.  I'm not very good or fast, but who cares?  I'm having fun.  I also started voice lessons a year ago.  It's great!!!  I love music.
But especially I love life!!!!!
